Mr. Joemichael GarciaJoemichael Garcia is coming into Alamo Heights Junior School from Judson Middle School. This will be his 7th year teaching. During his time at Judson he became an integral part of orchestral studies in the district as a leader to all middle school directors in JISD. He also was apart of the leadership team at Judson Middle School as the Department Chair for Fine Arts. Under his direction, Judson Middle School had the overall largest orchestra program in the Judson Independent School District and performed in a variety of venues in the greater San Antonio area. Mr. Garcia's orchestras have been featured at the Schertz Texas Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony, The Lila Cockrell Theater, and the Tobin Center. The award winning Judson MS Orchestra enjoyed a consistent history of Sweepstakes awards at state UIL Evaluations and Best in Class and Best Overall Awards at states festivals. Mr. Garcia's students have placed at TMEA Region auditions in both Region 12 and 11, been accepted into the Youth Orchestras of San Antonio, and gone on to pursue music at the high school and collegiate level.

Lani Gil is the Assistant Orchestra director at Alamo Heights Junior School. Ms. Gil was born and raised in San Antonio and is a graduate of Winston Churchill High School. She started playing violin at age 10 through the public school program. She is a graduate of Texas State University with a degree Bachelor of Music Education, and a Suzuki-certified teacher who runs a private studio in her home. She performs professionally around the area with various ensembles including the Sienna String Quartet. Her professional associations include being a member of the Texas Music Educators Association, Suzuki Association of the Americas and the Texas Orchestra Directors Association.
